We do all our own concrete work. We can do foundations to whole floor system in the barns, also we can do more complex jobs such as concrete work for a rotary parlour to sit on. For example we did the concrete work for Wynands Farm and their rotary parlour in the picture above. The picture below depicts the foundation we did for Semex where we built two quarantine facilities for calves.
Some farm buildings that we have constructed include, a 160ft x 350ft barn with three robotic milkers, a 500ft long poultry barn, and a barn with a rotary milk parlour. We consider these barns to be our specialty, we like going big and we aren't afraid of new challenges.
There are also barns that include a rotary milking parlour, capable of milking up to 30+ cows at once, these require farmers to be applied in the process but it does cut down on time.
Farmers have taken a huge interest in barns with robotic milkers. These specialty robotic free stall barns have robotic units that the cows can walk freely in and out of while the unit robotically and automatically milks the cow, leaving the farmer to do nothing but monitor the process at the farm or allows them to concentrate on other farm related projects.
Swank Construction Ltd. started as a company that originally only built farm buildings, so after 50+ years of being in the business, it's safe to say that we got the hang of it.
We have built farm buildings near and far, from just outside our small town of Iroquois to the big city of Ottawa. If the location suits us we would be willing to construct almost any type of farm building for you.
Farm buildings that we have built include: poultry facilities (most notably the Burnbrae's Egg facility in Brockville), bull facilities, free stall barns with robots, swine barns, stables, large machine sheds, manure lagoons and bunk silos.
